August weddings in Missouri can be a little unpredictable, especially when it comes to the heat!
But Chloe and Brendan's August 1, 2026 wedding at Samuel Cedars gave us something we absolutely love for a summer outdoor ceremony: overcast skies!
With a beautiful mix of rust, dusty blue, peach, and sage, their wedding was full of color and perfectly suited to the natural setting of Samuel Cedars.
A Beautiful August Outdoor Ceremony
When you're planning an outdoor wedding in Missouri during August, sunshine isn't necessarily the best thing you can ask for.
Sometimes, a little cloud cover is exactly what you want!
Chloe and Brendan had an overcast wedding day, which meant softer, more even natural light for their outdoor ceremony and portraits.
Our outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by cedar trees, with a beautiful water feature behind the arbor. It's already a pretty wonderful backdrop, and those softer skies made it an especially lovely setting for an August wedding.
Rust, Dusty Blue & Pops of Color
We loved Chloe and Brendan's wedding colors!
Rust and dusty blue made up the foundation of their palette, with pops of peach and sage bringing everything together.
It's such a pretty combination for a late-summer wedding because it incorporates some of those warmer, earthy tones without feeling like a full fall color palette.
Linda's Flowers provided the florals, bringing those beautiful colors into the celebration.
Against all of the greenery at Samuel Cedars, the combination was a gorgeous fit.
A Sweet Summer Celebration
Following their outdoor ceremony, the celebration continued with catering by Catering Creations and a dessert bar in place of a traditional wedding cake.
We love seeing couples choose the details that work best for their celebration, and a dessert bar is always a fun option!
Chloe and Brendan's wedding was a beautiful reminder that you don't need perfectly sunny skies for a gorgeous outdoor wedding day.
